Dear conscious people: Dance to express, not to impress.

Imagine an ecstatic beach party in 26 degrees, on white sand, shorts, palm trees, ecstatic dance, yoga, DJs, sauna, and conscious people - In the middle of winter in October when it is dark and cold outside! That's what Ecstatic Beach Party, the official after party of Biohacker Summit is all about (also open for the public, so invite your conscious friends!).

In collaboration with Ecstatic Dance Helsinki, Biohacker Summit, Natural High Healing Festival and Magnesia Festival. Event tags are #biohackersummit and #ecstaticdance.

Dear guests, the official after party of Biohacker Summit is all about authentic human experience and connection.

Our event starts with an Ecstatic Dance journey, a liberating expression of dance and movement!

Ecstatic dance is a free-form movement journey with music spanning various genres, tempos, emotions and intensities. No speaking or disruption of personal space allowed during ecstatic dance – Come early to get the instructions how it works.

After the Ecstatic Dance we move on to a live concert of sounds inspired by indigineous tribes, electronic music, trance and psychedelic sounds.

In case you were wondering: Due to recent restrictions on bar opening hours, we have to start earlier and close by midnight. Our event has plenty of space (and sand) for everyone. As a format, ecstatic dance has natural heart-connecting social distancing built-in. As a precaution we have implemented necessary measures for the safety of our attendees and recommend wearing a mask suitable for dancing. If you don't have one, we got some for sale.

Dress code: conscious beach party with a cool mask to highlight your eyes and intention.

Viivi Jokela will guide a Connection in Movement session accompanied by soundscapes crafted by DJ Techstil. This session will help you get your flow on for the night.

Viivi Jokela is a yoga and meditation teacher and an Ecstatic Dance facilitator. She has a vast background in various styles of yoga, dance, somatics, non-dual tantra and transpersonal psychology. She guides yoga classes that focus on the internal experience and perception of the practice: stepping into the flow, reconnecting with the body intelligence, and attending to sensations with openness, compassion and curiosity.

Techstil is a resident DJ at Borderland's Foxhole, and a host of the ambient sunset gigs at Tea By the Sea. Schooled as a classical cellist, his style combines the hypnotic rhythm of techno with warm acoustic presence, and timeless geometrical melodies. Growing up with Kraftwerk he fell in love with analogue synthesizers at early age. Pioneering mixing minimal techno with NI's Traktor in Malmö underground clubs in 2006. Following the Basic Channel-beats he moved to Berlin in 2008, participating in the evolution of the Berlin sound. After 5 years in Berlin he turned to a warmer slower sound, inspired by heavy base from Panorama bar, and never-ending weekends at Bar25... Nowadays based in Helsinki he plays hypnotic deep house and dubby techno from labels like Sol Selectas, Giegling, Molt, Hypnus, Trolldans, Permanent Vacation and Diynamic.

Ecstatic Dance: DJ MILLA LINNA (FIN)

Milla Linna creates intense Ecstatic Dance journeys that take you to the wild and the vulnerable sides of you. Some people say she creates magic. And some say she brings out the animal. Her DJ sets are curated with love and sensitivity, focusing on what really feels good in the body. She always brings about a colorful dance journey with a good dose of crazy wild beats and liquid-movement-inspiring sweetness. She has been madly in love with dance for over 30 years and is the pioneer of Ecstatic Dance in Finland.

Artist: DJ OlliS (FIN)

Dr. Olli Sovijärvi is also a DJ with the name OlliS. Growing in a very musical family and being predisposed to various kinds of music since a little kid has probably been the key factor of what OlliS is today. Over ten years of playing the piano and studying the theory of music have educated him on the ability to create something memorable and musically touching when performing as a DJ. A bi-monthly residency at Frisky Radio with a success show ‘Aurea Mediocritas’ has been ‘on-air’ already for over ten years. Also a six-year career at Finnish Radio One, YleX has left an unforgettable touch into Finnish electronic music scene as it is now. OlliS represents an integral perspective of progressive house, techno & psy music, a style that is built on strong bass lines, epic melodies and a groovy rhythm.

Live performance: VASKILINTU (FIN)

“Vaskilintu" is the artist name of Magdalena Sofia, vocalist and earth-based ritualist. Vaski is an ancient finnish word that means copper, bronze and brass. Lintu means bird. Vaskilintu is inspired by the healing therapeutic aspects of ceremonial music, and the power of music that affects the emotional landscapes of the human psyche and trans-cultural sounds. Vaskilintu as performer brings forth myths and the archaic root touch to her singing that resonates and lingers long within.

Live performance: KUMEA SOUND (FIN)

Lauri Wuolio is a Finnish composer and artist. He studied in the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, focusing on sound art and obtaining his MA degree in 2012. In the written part of his thesis he studied campanology (the study of bells) in context of contemporary sound art. His final work "In Girum Imus Nocte" consisted of a set of bells struck by mechanical hammers and infrared sensors tracking the movements of the audience. Wuolio creates his music mainly with the cupola (aka handpan) and various electronic instruments, synthesizers and samplers. His music has been heard in numerous films and in theater and dance pieces. He is also an active live performer.

Visual & kinetic DJ: RAY ARKAEI (POL)

Ray, alias Arkaei, is an award-winning electronic musician and visual artist with an otherwise blurry job description along the lines of coding and design. He's part of the editorial team behind technology blog DJWORX, volunteers for the non-profit DJ association IDA and hosts masterclass workshops, encouraging digital performers to explore technology further. Ray aims to raise digital live performance to a new level: one which includes the audience as an active part of the experience. Using 3D sensors, he captures the motion of the crowd and uses that data to influence both the musical and visual part of his shows.
